Landscape Analysis of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Ecosystem in Navsari, Gujarat

DevInsights undertook a landscape analysis of the secondary and higher secondary education ecosystem in Navsari district, Gujarat, to develop a comprehensive understanding of institutional structures, learning environments, and systemic challenges affecting education outcomes. The study examined government and private schools along with key education stakeholderst o identify gaps and opportunities for strengthening the education system.

The research adopted a qualitative, exploratory, cross-sectional approach, integrating extensive secondary data review including UDISE datasets, ASER reports, policy documents, and existing programme literature with primary field research. The study covered 44 schools and included school observations, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with principals, teachers, parents, Block Resource Coordinators, and education officials.

The assessment analysed infrastructure, teaching-learning processes, governance mechanisms, and community engagement to generateaction able insights. Findings informed district-level education planning and supported multi-stakeholder dialogue aimed at improving access, quality, and outcomes in secondary and higher secondary education.
