Client: Passing Gifts Private Limited (A wholly owned subsidiary of Heifer International)
Geography: East Godavari and Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh
Duration: May 2024 – October 2024 (5 months)
DevInsights conducted the Global Impact Monitoring (GIM) Survey for the Hatching Hope Accelerating Income (HHAI) Programme, implemented by Passing Gifts Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Heifer International. The programme aims to strengthen Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), improve poultry production systems, promote climate-smart agriculture, and enhance the incomes and livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Andhra Pradesh.
The study adopted a cross-sectional mixed-method approach integrating quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative component covered 880 FPO member households across East Godavari and Anantapur districts and assessed six Farmer Producer Organizations under the Enterprise Transformation Model (ETM). The qualitative component included 16 In-Depth Interviews (IDIs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with FPO members, Board of Directors, and programme staff to capture implementation experiences, enterprise performance, and livelihood outcomes.
DevInsights provided end-to-end evaluation support, including study design, tool development, field data collection, quality assurance, data analysis, and reporting. The assessment generated evidence on income enhancement, enterprise strengthening, FPO performance, and sustainable livelihood outcomes, providing actionable recommendations to strengthen programme implementation and future scale.
