Impact Evaluation of SCALE Programme in Mizoram

DevInsights conducted an impact evaluation of the SCALE (School Completion and Livelihood Enablement) Programme implemented by Magic Bus India Foundation in Mizoram. The programme focuses on integrating life skills education within public and government-aided schools to support adolescents from underserved backgrounds in completing their education and improving future livelihood opportunities.

The evaluation adopted a quasi-experimental mixed-method design guided by OECD-DAC criteria, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. The quantitative component included 586 respondents in the intervention group and 593 respondents in the control group, while the qualitative component involved stakeholder consultations with adolescents, parents, teachers, programme staff, and education officials.

DevInsights provided end-to-end evaluation support, including study design, tool development, data collection, and analysis. The study generated evidence on programme outcomes related to education continuity, life skills development, and youth empowerment, offering actionable insights to strengthen programme implementation and support future scale.
