Duration: November 2020 – July 2021 (9 months)
DevInsights conducted an impact assessment of Project Nanhi Kali, a large-scale initiative aimed at supporting the education of underprivileged girls by enabling them to complete schooling from Grade 1 to Grade 10. The programme provides academic support through after-school learning centres, school supplies kits, and access to adaptive learning technologies, fostering improved learning outcomes and school participation.
The study adopted a cross-sectional mixed-method approach to assess programme effectiveness among girls and their families. Data was collected from 861 girls across Grades VI–X in selected intervention districts, complemented by stakeholder interactions to understand programme delivery and outcomes.
DevInsights provided end-to-end evaluation support, including research design, data collection, analysis, and reporting. The assessment generated evidence on improvements in learning levels, academic performance, access to education, and overall well-being, offering actionable insights to strengthen programme implementation and support future scale.
DevInsights assessed the Nanhi Kali programme for K. C.Mahindra Education Trust, evaluating girls’ education outcomes to inform programme improvement and scale.
